What a day. Sandy came over today and the three of us planted 21 Arborvite (sp?) trees along our fence in the backyard. We were out there for over four hours straight just digging and planting. I think we cut the neighbors cable in the process. For some reason it looks like their cable line ran along the inside of our fence. We were trying to be careful, but with 21 holes to dig, it was inevitable. So needless to say, we may have pissed off the neighbors, but damn it we have a nice looking yard now. I also got a nice tan in the process. Well, technically it is a burn right now, but it will turn into a tan eventually. After digging and planting, Shawn and I went to PF Changs for dinner. That was good, as usual.
I called Joanne at RIT and officially accepted the Grad. Assistant position. She was very excited that I accepted. She also mentioned that there was some type of scholarship included as one of my perks, but she said she would have to get back to me with the details. So, needless to say, this job is way better for me than I ever imagined. It's funny, the day that I got the initial call from RIT to offer an interview, I had just said a little prayer. Earlier this week I realized that I had balance my check book wrong and our account was going to be negative by the end of the week. So, that morning that I recieved the call I stopped, took a few breaths and said "Uncle Tim, I need a little help. If you could just point me in the right direction and help me figure things out right now, I would really appreciate it". I guess my prayers were answered in an unexpected way. I was referring to my bank account and how I was going to make it positive by the end of the week, but this was even better. The bank account was taken care of that afternoon, plus, the day that I went on my interview we got our reimbursement check in the mail from Devere. My prayers were answered, and I now have no doubts about the future or where I stand right now. I know I am on the right path and headed exactly where I want to be.
