So...I had a long day at work yesterday fixing the mistakes of another incompetent person who is working for the EMBA Program. I ended up staying a little later at work because of that. Then, when I finally did get out of work I got into a nice little car accident just before the victor exit on the thruway. It was a actually a five car pile up that I was right in the center of. I got hit on three out of four sides. It all started when some asshole in a red truck three cars ahead of me slammed on his brakes for no reason at all. We were all in the fast lane on the thruway. It was a chain reaction from there. I rearended the white buick that was immediately following the red truck (which fled the scene by the way). There was a gray pontiac that was between me and the white buick before the accident. That car swerved to the left sideswiped the guardrail. At the same time, a red trailblazer behind me swerved to the left and came up beside me, sideswiping me and rearending the gray pontiac. About four seconds later a silver Toyota Rav Rearended me hard, crushing the back end of my car. It was delightful. But, we all walked away uninjured, so I thank my lucky stars for that. I don't know what the damage to my car will be yet. I'd say the back end is totaled, but the front is potentially fixable. We'll see what Geico has to say. They are going to look at my car within the next five days. For now, Geico is going to pay for a loaner for me. Damn it...Can't we have anything nice!
But, I am not going to let all of that stop me from having a good day today though. Mom's car broke down yesterday too. But, I am going to go get my rental car and we are going to have a good day today damn it! I am going to eat my mexican food with a smile and a deep down greatfulness that I am able to eat my mexican food today and I am not in a hospital eating through a feeding tube. I am going to go the the dress shop with mom, and we are going to find her the most beautiful dress to wear in Tara's wedding. Then, we will finish the day with a massage to wipe away all of this week's stresses.
I hate to steal mom's closing line, but it is definately a good day to LIVE McDougal!!!!!!
