Just a quick update...
In the irony that is my life, Xerox called me yesterday and notified me that the HR position that they were trying to create last year was actually approved and they wanted to bring me back for another interview. At first I declined explaining that I had already been offered another position. But, then as soon as I hung up the phone I started saying "I shoulda just gone on the interview to see what happened". So, with Uncle Tim's words in mind I decided to nix the shoulda's and call Xerox back explaining that nothing is carved in stone for me at this point and I would like to hear more about the position. They said they were looking for someone to start in June, but I was very open with them and informed them that I was 4 1/2 months pregnant and wondered if they would consider an early August start date. They said absolutely, since it is a new position they are flexible on the start date. The position is a recruiting position that would recruit college students, which is right up my alley. So, I am going to interview with them next week on Valentine's day and see where things go. Maybe I will end up at Reliant still, maybe I will have to start at Reliant and then leave, or maybe Xerox will get back to me quickly and I will just stay at RIT until May, go on unemployment for June and July and then start at Xerox in August. Who knows...
Laurie also called me yesterday and said that she was thinking about quitting her job at Janie and Jack to stay home with the girls and start her own small day care our of her home with just three or four kids. That would be perfect for us. I would much rather pay someone I know and trust to take care of our baby than leave him/her with a complete stranger.
So, things could be looking even better than we thought if everything pans out.
